The Great American Read

liberty-join-thumbAre you watching The Great American Read on PBS? Are you interested in reading books on their list of the 100 most loved books? Then join our Adult Day Book Club on the second Wednesday of each month at 1:15 PM. Each month, we will be reading and discussing one of the books from the list.

At our next meeting on October 10 we will be discussing The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.

What is The Great American Read?  It is an eight-part TV series that explores and celebrates the power of reading, told through the prism of America’s 100 best-loved novels (as chosen in a national survey)*.  It investigates how and why writers create their fictional worlds, how we as readers are affected by these stories, and what these 100 different books have to say about our diverse nation and our shared human experience.  –PBS.org

Enjoy watching The Great American Read and then join us on October 10 at 1:15 PM to discuss The Book Thief.
