Where Auburn Comes Together!

Using NH Downloadable Books

Although print books remain popular among all ages of readers, there are times when people prefer an ebook or streaming audiobook.

The good news is that these formats have now been out for a long time and using them is easier then ever. The easiest method is downloading the app from your device’s App Store and reading or listening to your selected title within the app.

In the case of NH Downloadable Books (OverDrive/Libby) you have a choice of two apps. The older “OverDrive” app still works for those who are used to it and Overdrive is continuing to support it for the near future. However, if you are new to NH Downloadable Books, it is recommended to download the new App named, “Libby” as it is designed to be more user friendly.

What if you have a device that does not support Apps such as an eReader such as the Kindle Paperwhite or the Nook Glowlight Plus? These are often also able to work with NH Downloadable Books, but the steps are different and not all models are supported. Which ebooks are currently supported? You can go to the HELP section of NH Downloadable Books for the list which then links you to the correct instructions.

Additional directions and help can be found at the NH Downloadable Books Blog.
