Libby App Notifications: Not Working

New Hampshire Downloadable Books (NHDB) is a great way to read ebooks, emagazines and stream audiobooks. Many of us use the associated app, Libby, to access this content on our phones and tablets. While the app is working, we have been informed that notifications of holds becoming available within the Libby app are not working properly.

If you are like me, that means you may have missed books becoming available. To prevent this from happening in the future, it is recommended that you turn off notifications within the Libby app until this bug is fixed and receive notifications via email instead. Directions on how to do this are available below or by linking to the NHDB Handbook here:

  • On your phone or tablet settings and navigate to Notifications.
  • Locate the Libby app and turn off notifications.
  • Open the Libby app and tap on the small Libby “head” in the upper-right corner of the screen to access settings. (If the Libby app was already open, you will need to close it and reopen it first)
  • Tap on “Manage Notifications.”
  • Tap on “Receive Email Notifications.”

The State Library has also put out a blog post explaining this as well: .
