Griffin Free Public Library is now offering Porch Pick-Up of physical materials!
What is Porch Pick-Up?
A lot of retailer’s are now offering the option of curbside pick-up. Our Porch Pick-Up is very similar. You may request physical books, movies and audiobooks from Griffin Free Public Library by logging into your library account at https://catalog.griffin.bywatersolutions.com/ and putting material on hold. You may also call 603.483.5374 and leave a message or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Staff will pull the material for you and then call you to schedule a time for you to pick up material.
Please do not come to the library building before a staff member calls you to schedule a pick-up time.
When you arrive at the library’s parking lot, stay in your car and call the library staff at 603.483.5374 and let them know that you have arrived. Staff will then place your material on the porch for you to pick-up. Please stay in your car until staff have reentered the building. Once staff have gone back inside, you may get out of your car and pick up your material.
Please remember if there are other patrons around to maintain proper social distancing.

How many items may I request?
Patrons may request up to five items per card, per Pick-Up day. Please note that due to high demand that it may take several days to process your Pick-Up request.
Will you deliver books to me?
If you are homebound and therefore unable to pick-up books for yourself, please contact the Library Director at email@example.com for assistance.
Will you mail books/material to me?
We not mail items.
Where do I return library material?
Library materials may be returned to the blue return bin next to the library’s front door.
What precautions is the library taking to safely handle physical material?
Library staff have been provided with gloves and facemasks to use while handling your Pick-Up requests. In addition, material returned to the library is placed in a three day quarantine prior to being put back in circulation per the latest research and recommendations.
I returned a book in the book drop several days ago, but it is still showing as checked out to me on my account. Why has it not been discharged from my account yet?
Library material that has been returned is being placed in a three day quarantine prior to being handled by staff. Once the quarantine period has ended, the staff will discharge it from your account. This may provide a lag of several days to a week between when you placed your material in the return bin to when it is taken off of your account.
Is the library building open to the public?
No, at this time the library building is closed to the public.
When will the library building open to the public?
At this time, no date has been set for reopening the building to the public. The Governor has issued guidelines for libraries to follow in considering how best to provide our services under the current situation. After careful review, it has been decided that the best way to offer our services is through Porch Pick-Up and virtual programming. As this is a fluid situation, please keep watch of our website as this is subject to change without notice.
