Where Auburn Comes Together!

Review: Time After Time by Lisa Grunwald

One of our new titles, Time After Time, by Lisa Grunwald is an enchanting ghost story that I thoroughly enjoyed. I’d describe this book as a captivating blend of historical fiction and fantasy. This love story is set in 1937 in New York City and it is inside the infamous Grand Central Station that the main characters, Joe and Nora, meet for the first time. Nora and Joe hit it off but of course there’s a hitch; Nora is a ghost from the 1920s and if she strays too far away from the station she disappears. Despite the elements of the supernatural, this story somehow seems believable, and you can’t help but root for the characters in their quest to be together despite the obstacles they face. This book was very readable but also written quite beautifully; I was charmed by Grunwald’s writing style.

I’d recommend this book for those readers who fell head over heels for Diana Gabaldron’s Outlander series or The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger because of their shared mystical elements and enduring love stories. I think now more than ever is a great time to get lost in a good book and I hope you give this one a try!

Enjoy!

Jamie
