Where Auburn Comes Together!
Welcome to September, which is Banned Book Month. Reading is empowering! Learn about new perspectives and celebrate the freedom to read with books that have been challenged or banned throughout the years.
At Griffin Free Library, we’re using the popular Beanstack program to let patrons and readers, young and adult, log your reading of banned books to earn badges and prizes throughout the month-long challenge.
Simply either create an account or log into your current account, click on the Banned Books section and get reading. We love to hear how you do and what you think. We think you’ll be surprised when you discover which books have been challenged throughout the years.
Log on or register here: https://griffinfree.beanstack.org. Or scan the QR Reader code to download the app.
Then, stop at the library to actually take out a wrapped banned book; be surprised at the titles you discover. Finally, coming soon, patrons will have an opportunity to pose along with their favorite read of the month to show the world what you’re reading.
