Library of Things

From guitars and telescopes, to ice cream makers and bread machines, we have an ever-growing collection of items that may be checked out from our Library of Things

A Library of Things is a collection of items for loan that expands the boundaries of traditionally defined library materials. As a library patron, you can borrow household items, games, electronics, musical instruments and more. The Library of Things is a great way to save money by borrowing an item to try before you decide whether to buy it!

Our collection currently includes:

  • Kitchen Equipment
    Bread machine, cake pans, cookie cutters, food processor, ice cream machine, kitchen scale, knife sharpener
  • Hardware
    Laser level, stud detector
  • Lifestyle
    Acoustic guitar, games for all ages (including giant Four-in-a-Row and stacking tower games for groups), Knifty Knitter, light therapy lamp, musical piano play mat, page magnifier for reading, potholder loom kit, ukulele learning kit
  • Science & Nature
    Telescope

These items are available for check out now and our collection continues to grow. Stop by the library to see everything available or click the button below to search the catalog for the item you want. You may even place a hold on any Library of Things item in the catalog!

A Few Things to Know:
  • A borrower’s agreement must be completed for some items.
  • Some items can only be borrowed for 1 week (No automatic renewal).
  • With few exceptions, only one item may be borrowed at the same time.
  • Items must be returned to a staff member inside the library (not in the library’s book drop or on the front porch).
